Content Submissions, Interviews, Events & Overview Guidelines
Three-cycle commitment:
We will ask all regular Collaborative Contributors to commit to submitting to three consecutive publishing cycles. You can submit your content in a batch for ease or submit one piece per month during the 3-cycle commitment period.
- Each time a digital mag is released, it's a "cycle." Web and other content will be published on an ongoing basis both around and in conjunction with this. In 2025 we will have nine digital mags, thus nine cycles.
- Your first submission will always be featured in the digital / print mag if it is submitted on time. The deadline to submit is always the second Friday of the month for the following publishing cycle. If it’s late, it will go on the web. Here is the Contributor Section submission calendar of deadlines (opens in a new tab).
- We have scheduled key "breaks" from submission deadlines for July, August, and December in 2025.
Broader reach:
The first contribution of each cycle will be in the print and digital magazine. The other two contributions will be distributed across platforms like Substack, Medium, and the web platform for additional discoverability. Each placement offers great benefits on its own, yet combined across the cycle, it will offer a robust combination of benefits.
Public directory:
A centralised profile will link readers directly to more in-depth information about you. The space is yours! This means you can update the information as often as you like and include what YOU want to include while increasing your own discoverability, as we also share and promote that platform for you.
Use the tools:
We will provide guides, regular communications and promotional materials to streamline your workflow.
Limited number of Collaborative Sections:
The digital/print magazine will house a limited number of regular Contributors to ensure their high profile in the platform and its promotions.
Participate in collective growth:
Share the magazine with your audience to expand everyone’s reach and achieve genuine collective growth.
Share:
Once submitted, your role shifts to maintaining your profile (if needed) and sharing your digital / web magazine content when it is published on the various placements. This approach minimizes stress, streamlines the process, and provides clarity for everyone involved.
Rebel World ltd General Content, Event, Interview & WRM Submissions:
Accessibility:
- We can provide an audio file for an interview. Please email support@ourrebelworld.com to make that request and you’ll receive an email reply with a link to the audio file and guidelines for submission, which are also listed below.
- We can provide a plain word document/email of interview queries. Please email support@ourrebelworld.com to make that request and you’ll receive an email reply with a link to the document file/email of queries and guidelines for submission, which are also listed below.
- You understand and agree that submitting content ANY way other than using our forms still applies the exact same rules, T&Cs, guidelines and processes.
- You understand and agree that although we’ll do our best to be as accessible and supportive as possible - we’re only human. We also are a small team and have disabilities and neuro-differences that may mean certain things are harder for us, take us longer or that we may not be able to do. Note the solution also has to be “doable” for us, though we will do our best to work with you to find a solution that works for you. You agree to be open to his process and that if it is something that we can do, it may take longer to action.
- Also, we may get things accidentally wrong. It is never our intention to upset, exclude, harm or create less equity for anyone - especially marginalised genders, disabled / PwD and neurodiverse humans. Let us know how we can have better communication, processes, inclusion and accessibility. We will do our best to learn and you letting us know how we can do better is a big part of that process.
- We’ll advise these steps in the email support reply: You’ll email your content to WRM at: submissions@weroarmagazine.com - in that email, please:
- Confirm in writing that you have read, understood and agree to all terms and conditions in the form, and the T&Cs linked to it.
- Include a link to the form you are submitting.
- Attach the content submissions and ensure you use the same naming strategies, include alt text and video IDs and include all the same information in the email that is asked in the form.
- If you don’t include all of the requested information, we may not be able to use it. If you need additional accessibility support, please email support@ourrebelworld.com, and we will do our best to help.
Form:
You’ll submit your content to WRM and other platforms via an online accessibly approved form unless you need additional accessibility support. In that case, please see the “Accessibility” section above for how to contact us. All other T&Cs apply below, and you are agreeing to these no matter the way you submit or engage with us.
Here is a short overview of submitting forms with more details below:
- You need to answer all required sections on the form.
- You need to include alt text for images and video description.
- You will select a THEME or TOPIC you want to write about each submission. This may be a general theme you want to be known for or work within or may be specific to your submission. This can be changed with each submission.
- You’ll select the “template” that best suits you. Each has its own character limit (including spaces) and different combinations of image sizes/rotation and video. You will need to supply images that fit the template you’ve selected and ensure that you do not exceed the character limit, or we may not be able to use your content.
- You’ll upload a Word document with your text.
- You’ll upload your images using the naming strategy, which is PascalCase and using your First and Last Name. You’ll number your additional images included after your bio pic with 1, 2, 3 etc.
- Please ensure your video link is YouTube or Vimeo links only and are open for the public to view.
- Please ensure you submit all content by the required deadlines. Otherwise, it may not be used in the digital/print magazine.
Templates - The container for your content
You should choose a general “template”, meaning a pre-defined set of text by character limit, images by number and rotation (horizontal/vertical) and video. These are used on all placements, not just the digital/print magazine - all placements have the same character limits, guidelines and follow all of the same T&Cs as the digital magazine submissions.
- We provide templates for you to choose from to allow you to select the character limit and other content that suits you best while making it easier for the production of the digital/print magazine and making it easier for those submitting any interviews, articles and other content. The templates will dictate:
- The length of your written submission by character limit (including spaces).
- The number of images you submit. If you chose to submit a video or not (if you’re a Collaborative partner).
- These templates ensure visual consistency across the magazine and the web.
- These dictate the overall content “container” - even when your content is placed online or other placement than the digital or print magazine these are how we measure the character limits, images, video and thus are used across all of the WRM touchpoints.
Images ;
Here is a short overview of submitting images supplied need to be high resolution in case they are printed. Your images can be:
- Stock images with appropriate commercial usage rights.
- Photos of yourself or your products.
- A quote on a plain or textured background.
- Other content such as a graphic, comic, illustration, artwork or other type of content can be included.
- Follow the naming strategies using PascalCase when naming your image files.
- Ensure you submit alt text for each image.
- You must own the content or have full permission to use someone else’s content. Below is more on copyright and liability for ANY content submissions.
Videos
Videos should include video ID on the submission form. We will try our best to use the video ID you supply; however, we may adapt it or use different alt text when we feel it is appropriate. If you do not supply alt text, your images (or content submission as a whole) may not run. Taking the time to make your content as accessible as possible is important. Video ID is a written description of a video’s purpose, context, and appearance that's read by screen readers and indexed by search engines. It gives a deeper understanding of the video.
Mini-Bio & Image
You can include a small mini-bio text on the WRM placements, which can be about you, a song lyric, a quote - whatever you’d like. You’ll be able to share a small headshot, icon, logo or avatar - whatever you’d like at the top of your content with your mini-bio text.
General Notes on Submissions:
- Note that any content not submitted in the formats, with the naming strategies, with requested alt text/video IDs etc, may not be included. You may be contacted to correct this; howeve,r we cannot guarantee this. The responsibility lies solely with the person submitting to ensure all submissions meet the requirements, guidelines and spirit of the collaborative project and platform.
- You should receive an email with a copy of the form you submitted. Please check your spam if you did not receive a copy. If you still can’t find it, please email submissions@weroarmagazine.com.
- If you are a regular Collaborative Contributor, you will be first placed in the digital and/or print magazine along with the feature interviews, Commercial Collaborators and other key partners or LRC/WRM content. Additional submissions of one-off interviews/articles will be placed around this content as space allows. WRM will select what content is placed where within the WRM magazine and has sole discretion on this based on many factors including but not limited to other types of content included, including theme of content (eg tech),
The COST - Your Collective Sharing Responsibility:
Taking part on the WRM media platform and other platforms and opportunities is based on our Rebel Collaboration and philosophy of: Collective Sharing, Collective Growth, and Collective Impact. By taking part in our WRM platform, events and other opportunities, a cash fee is often waived in exchange for a cost of “sharing”.
You agree to do a MINIMUM of two easy things by submitting content that is then placed by us on any part of the WRM media platform:
- Share on social media to your one chosen channel:
Share your content and the WRM link for either the digital magazine OR for the online location it was placed on - Medium, Substack, Website and others. You’ll be notified of the placement of your content in an email that will also include your social graphic, alt text for the graphic we supply and image ID to use in the social post.
- You can use the graphic sent to you, or feel free to create your own.
- Always share the link in your social post so that others can easily find the content.
- Please include the ID (image description) sent for the graphic we shared.
- If creating your own graphic - please try to remember to add an ID for the image, too. This helps people who have a vision impairment better understand what is being shared and the feelings around it.
- Share to your main email newsletter list:
Share your content and the WRM link for either the digital magazine OR the online link for where it was placed.
We encourage collaborators and partners to share WRM content on as many social media channels as they can. You can also share at events and recommend WRM to others who would enjoy reading it or being part of it. Get creative! Again, the more we COLLECTIVELY share, the more we COLLECTIVELY grow, and the more COLLECTIVE impact we will make!
WHAT IF YOU DON’T PAY THE COST OF “SHARING” AS AGREED:
- WRM reserves the right at its sole and final discretion to charge a $250 fee PER publishing cycle for anyone who has not shared at least once to their email newsletter list and once on their nominated social channel PER PLACEMENT of content. (For example, if you’re a Collaborative Contributor and agreed to a cycle of three publishing cycles and didn’t share at all during those three times, that would be a fee of $750 in lieu of your sharing as agreed.)
- If you shared to one place but not the other, eg. you shared to your nominated social channel but not to your email list, we may charge a fee of $150 PER publishing cycle.
- Any fees collected will be split 50% between Rebel World Ltd. It takes considerable time to produce the publication and load your content to the online spaces, and we spend a lot of resources building the partnerships and collaborations that make this all happen.
Instead of only charging a monetary fee - we allow anyone involved in the WRM platform to take part for the cost of “sharing”. To us, this is better than a fee for participation in or for “advertorials” or other submissions. We have created an environment of collaboration for genuine collective growth and impact - and it does have a cost. The small fee charged if you don’t share is also low compared to the reach on offer, a huge amount of promotion given, us opening space on the WRM platform for your content/submissions, for the production of and publishing of your content, for creating your promotional material, and for putting in time to promote it.
- The other 50% of any “no sharing fees” collected will be split equally between all other Collaborative Contributors who also paid the cost of “sharing” as agreed per the publishing cycle you did not. They supported your content, profile, business and mission by sharing - and worked hard to create their own content, too. They should also benefit from anyone who doesn’t play fair and pay the easy “sharing” cost.
- If you are charged a fee, you have 30 days from the date of invoice to pay it in full, otherwise, interest and other charges may apply.
